Our goal is to bring a ray of sunshine into the lives of families with children with life-threatening and/or serious conditions. Nevertheless, camp is just that: camp!! We love our little rustic space in the woods and hope that you will too. Each family will have their own small, modest cabin – cabins have electricity and also a small fridge. Bathrooms are located in a separate building. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily – along with plenty of fresh and tasty snacks.
The campground includes a dining hall, screened-in porch, and fully equipped kitchen. The camp also has a centralized bathhouse with showers, including a handicap bathroom and six showers. We have an office building that staffs a full-time Director, 8 family cabins, 4 staff cabins, and a first aid station. The campground is adjacent to Rafe Pond, which is the setting for many of our waterfront activities. We also boast our own archery ranch, low ropes course, outdoor theater, nature trailer, and playground.
Our talented camp staff will put together a simple programming schedule – again, emphasizing the laid back spirit of Dream Day – you can expect arts/crafts a couple times during the week, trips to the Park’s pond daily for swimming and canoeing, exploring the waterfront to meet our turtle friends, a nightly campfire, a trip to Barnstable for a whale watch, and a trip to the beach one day. We’ll have plenty of games around camp for all to play – from board games to hide and seek. We have a playground on the premises too, that younger children and families will enjoy.
We are thrilled to offer families the Nature Center @ Nan-Ke-Rafe this summer. Through a grant of service from Americorps Cape Cod and with the help of volunteer naturists, families can learn the precious natural surroundings around them.
Our goal is to offer your family respite and a time to enjoy the company of one another. Dream Day is a family camp and ongoing parent supervision is critical – particularly for children under 8. Our programs are designed with the entire family in mind. Having said that, please keep in mind that all programming is optional! If your family would like to take a pass on any of the activities we offer, that is fine! We’ll always just need a head count or meals and ask that you let us know.
